Cuttack: Two criminals injured in police encounter

CUTTACK: Two criminals sustained bullet injuries in an encounter with police in Chauliaganj locality. The two history sheeters injured in police firing are Alekh Routray and Kala Babu. Both of them worked for gangster Tito.
Inspector in charge of Chauliaganj police station Ajay Das got a tip off about movement of the two criminals in an isolated place at around 10 pm.Das along with his team immediately reached the spot and chased the criminals. On seeing police team, both the criminals opened fire at them and also hurled a live bomb on them. The police personnel had a narrow escape.
"In defence, our men also opened fire at the two history sheeters in which they sustained bullet injuries on their legs," said DCP(Cuttack), Akhileswar Singh.
Condition of both the criminals is stated stable by doctors.
